What We Repair
Yakima Appliance Repair focuses on washers and dryers. We also service dishwashers and ovens for local households — all major brands, in-home.
Washing Machines
Top-load and front-load machines, all major brands. We carry common parts for Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Maytag, and Kenmore — most repairs are completed in a single visit without ordering parts.
Dryers
Electric and gas dryers, all brands. When possible, we handle dryer repairs in the same visit as washer repair — you get one appointment, not two.
Dishwashers
Built-in and portable models, all brands. Not draining, not cleaning, or leaving dishes dirty — diagnosed and repaired in local homes.
Ovens & Ranges
Gas and electric, freestanding and built-in, all brands. Not heating, not igniting, temperature reading incorrectly — all serviced.
Common Washer Problems We Fix
If your washer is acting up, it’s usually one of these five issues. We stock parts for all of them.
Washer Not Spinning
Drum fills but clothes come out soaked. Usually a worn motor coupling, failed lid switch, or drive belt issue. Diagnosed and fixed in one visit.
Washer Not Draining
Standing water in the drum after a cycle. Almost always a blocked drain pump filter or failed pump motor. Left unfixed, it backs up onto your laundry room floor.
Washer Leaking
Water on the floor around your washer. Three common sources: cracked door gasket, failed inlet valve, or damaged drain hose. Even slow leaks damage subfloors over time.
Washer Not Starting
Press start, nothing happens. Usually a failed control board, blown thermal fuse, or broken door latch assembly. We check the basics before assuming the worst.
Washer Making Noise
Thumping, grinding, or squealing during spin. Usually drum bearings, shock absorbers, or a worn drive belt. Bearing failure is especially common in front-loaders running on local hard water.
Dryer Repair in Yakima
We repair electric and gas dryers across all major brands. Often handled in the same visit as washer repair when scheduling allows.
Not Heating
Drum spins but clothes come out cold or damp. Usually a blown thermal fuse or failed heating element. On gas dryers, a faulty igniter or gas valve coil.
Not Turning On
Check your circuit breaker first — electric dryers use a double breaker. If that’s fine, likely a door switch, start switch, or control board issue.
Taking Too Long
Running two or three cycles to dry one load? First check the exhaust duct — a clogged vent is a fire hazard. If clear, likely a failing heating element or moisture sensor.
